Candy Wrapper Scarf
Unwrap a fun new project! The Candy Wrapper Scarf is a playful triangular scarf finished with a ruffled edge that looks much more complicated than it actually is!
Knit lengthwise in DK weight yarn, this scarf's triangular shape is made with short rows and the scrumptious ruffled edge is achieved with simple increases (and lots of stitches). It’s the perfect project for a confident beginner who is ready to move beyond the basics and try a few new techniques; seasoned knitters looking for their next "happy knitting" project will find it here, too.
The Candy Wrapper Scarf was originally designed for my 2026 Halloween yarn box, but 400 yards of any DK weight yarn will make one! Choose your favorite color - this project looks great in solids, stripes, speckles, and colorful hand-dyed yarns.
It’s a fun, approachable knit with just enough technique to keep things interesting, and the finished scarf is the perfect pop of personality to throw on as the seasons change.
Construction Details:
The scarf is worked seamlessly from the long upper edge towards the outer ruffled edge. The Crochet Cast On is recommended for the beginning of the scarf. The triangular shape is made with simple German Short Rows and easy increases create the ruffled edge.
