Exploring Israel

through fiber and fine arts

FEBRUARY 26-MARCH 7, 2024

Join me on a journey through Israel as we explore this fascinating country! Full of history and spirituality, this breathtaking country is the perfect backdrop for all of the crafting, laughing, and knitting we’ll do together on a private guided tour. Throughout this 10-day luxury trip, we will share our passion for travel, art, food, history, and (of course) knitting.

Connect through our common threads and experience all that Israel has to offer for both the seasoned and new visitor. Our main stops will include Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and the Negev Desert.

Art throughout Tel Aviv

Take in Tel Aviv’s vibrant art scene as we connect the many art forms we’ll see to our shared love of knitting. Experience the city through craft markets, food tastings, tours, and museums. During our time in Tel Aviv, we’ll also visit the Gourmet Yarn Shop in Ra’Naana for a mini-workshop and private shopping with Orly Ben Ary, the owner of the shop and author of “Wool Vests for Toddlers”.

February 29-March 1, 2024

A Journey of Creativity in the North

On our journey north, we’ll stop at historic Caesarea before heading to the arts town of Zikhron Ya’acov. We will learn the fascinating process of paper and candle making in guided workshops. After a vivid visit to the Soul Wool dye studio with the color genius Shlomo, we’ll make our way to Jerusalem for a casual Shabbat dinner and prepare for the next leg of our creative adventure.

Jerusalem: A Tapestry of History and Creativity
Our stay in Jerusalem focuses on history and creativity. To honor our own creativity, we’ll make mosaics and handwoven tapestries that are sure to be wonderful keepsakes of this trip.

Throughout our stay in Jerusalem, we will visit some of the city’s most treasured sites:

Old City of Jerusalem and the Western Wall

The Israel Museum - one of the world’s leading art and archaeology museums.

Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum

And, we’ll be taking a day trip to the Dead Sea, Masada, and Ein Gedi – an oasis in the desert.

Unwind in the Desert

We will travel to the Negev Desert to stay at the spectacular Beresheet resort and spa! Here, we’ll relax, knit, feed alpacas at a local alpaca farm, and visit wineries. As if that wasn’t magical enough, we’ll spend a night stargazing in the middle of the Makhtesh Ramon crater! There will be free time to book a spa treatment at the resort, hike through this spectacular erosion crater, or just knit and take in the beauty that surrounds you.

We will make our way north and say shalom to all of our new friends as we depart on evening flights. Optional add-on trip to Egypt is available through our travel agent.
