
Mix-and-Match Hat
Choose your own hat adventure with the Mix-and-Match Hat! This is a completely customizable hat. Choose from 17 different stranded-colorwork stitch patterns and three crown shaping styles to create a hat that's as unique as you are!
The hat is worked in the round from the brim towards the crown. The stranded colorwork stitch patterns and crown instructions are provided in written and charted form. Follow according to your preference.

Adult Sizes: Small/Medium (Large/X-Large)
Finished measurements: 20 (21.5)”/50 (54) cm brim circumference & 8.5 (9)”/22 (22.5) cm depth when laid flat.
Gauge: 20 stitches and 24 rounds = 4”/10 cm in Stranded Colorwork in the round using size needle to obtain gauge.
Needles: US 6 (4 mm) 16”/40 cm circular needle and DPN (or magic loop) or size needed for gauge, US 5 (3.75 mm) 16”/40 cm circular needle or one size smaller than size needed for gauge. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Yarn: Approximately 180 (200) yards total or 90 (100) yards each of two colors of DK weight (CYCA #3) yarn.
Shown in Clinton Hill Cashmere “Bespoke DK” (100% Cashmere made in Italy; 125 yds /50 g). The sample hats were worked in Cognac and Pale Blush, YOLO Yellow and Light Denim, and Dark Navy and Passion Pink.
