Construction Details This hat is worked from the bottom ribbed edge towards the top. The bottom ribbing is worked on the smaller needle and then the cable section is worked on the larger needle. The crown is worked on the smaller circular and DPN.
Techniques Necessary Cast on Knit and purl Increasing (M1) Decreasing (K2tog) Cabling
Gauge: 32 stitches and 32 rows = 4” in cable pattern using larger needles.
Needles: US 7 (4.5 mm) circular knitting needle or size needed for gauge 16” length, US 5 (3.75 mm) circular knitting needle or 2 sizes smaller than size needed for gauge 16” length and DPN. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
